Atlas Heavy was commissioned to provide a comprehensive transportation solution, spanning from the factory in India to the construction site foundation on the Caribbean Island of Antigua.
From the project’s inception, Atlas Heavy was deeply involved, conducting a feasibility study to explore various options for transporting the sizable LNG tanks from India to the job site. This included offering consultancy services and guidance for establishing the foundation and securely placing the tanks upon it. Collaborating closely with local authorities in Antigua ensured seamless coordination throughout the operation.
Beyond arranging transportation in India and chartering vessels to Antigua, Atlas Heavy collaborated with a local barge company to ensure compliance with standards necessary for moving the large tanks. Direct discharge from the vessel to the barge facilitated the tanks’ transfer along the coastline of Antigua. Subsequently, utilizing Goldhofer PST’s, the tanks were rolled off the barge and strategically staged at the job site. This process was repeated four times over four days.
With all tanks positioned on site, Atlas Heavy’s crew commenced the meticulous task of setting each tank onto the foundation, meticulously preparing them for final installation. Employing Goldhofer PST’s once more, the crew carefully drove the tanks over the foundation and delicately lowered them into place using hydraulic trailers.
At Atlas Heavy, we’re engineered to move.
