Atlas Heavy Transport (AHT) were awarded the two-part transport of a ships rudder which was in urgent need of repair. The ship was scheduled into drydock in Alabama however a Navy ship which holds priority moved up their scheduled call meaning that the vessel had to make alternate arrangements for repair. AHT provided a quick solution to transport the ships rudder from the dock in Galveston to the repair facility in Houston. Due to the urgency the fastest method was to shift the rudder to Houston by barge and then move the short distance over the road to the repair facility.

The rudder spent around 45 days at the repair facility which gave AHT the time needed to prepare a suitable route and submit for permits to deliver the rudder back to the ships side, completely over the road.

All engineering and transport designs were completed in house.
